Reach your goals with Reflections Counselling

Moving Forward Together

WELCOME

SLT-Craft-Group-31.jpg

Hi, I am Danny, and I am an LGBT counsellor based in Norwich. I provide private, confidential counselling sessions designed to support you at your own pace, whether you want to explore change in your life or need someone to truly listen. With a BSc(Hons) in Psychotherapeutic Counselling and membership in the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP), I use an integrative approach—tailoring my work to meet your unique needs rather than applying a one-size-fits-all method. Sessions are available both in person and online at my city-centre premises, offering flexible support wherever you are in the UK.

Taking the first step towards change can feel overwhelming, especially when carrying personal or painful experiences. You don't have to face it alone. I offer a safe, non-judgemental space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace. Everyone's journey is different, and I aim to help you understand what you're experiencing and find ways to navigate life's challenges in a way that feels right for you.

If you're ready to take that first step—or even if you're just curious about what counselling might offer—get in touch and book a consultation. Whether it's online or in person, I'm here to listen, support, and help you find your way forward. There is no pressure or rush—just a space where you can be heard and understood. I hope that working together feels like two people in the room working towards the same goal, and who knows, we might even have a laugh on the way.

Wellcome

A Bit About Me

Before becoming a counsellor, I was on my journey of figuring things out. I often felt lost and disconnected from the world around me. Growing up, I knew I was gay and struggled with undiagnosed dyslexia, which left me feeling isolated and misunderstood. Without the proper support or understanding, I ended up turning to unhealthy coping strategies like eating disorders and OCD to get by.

Counselling was a real turning point for me. It gave me the space to explore all those tangled thoughts and feelings, to make sense of what I was going through, and to make better choices for myself. That process changed everything for me. It also made me realise how powerful it can be to have someone listen to your story and help you find your way forward.

That’s why I became a counsellor—to offer that same kind of support to others. Because I get it. Having experienced feeling overwhelmed, lost, or just stuck, I wanted to help others through those difficult times. And I know it’s possible to come out the other side feeling more at peace and more like yourself.

My goal is to help you feel understood and supported while you find your own path. You’re not alone in this, and things can get better. Whenever you’re ready, I’m here to listen.

Individual therapy:

I offer one-to-one sessions where we will work together to address what has impacted you in a safe way. These sessions allow you to talk, explore your emotions, and process things at your own pace. Whether you are just beginning to process your experiences or have been on your healing journey for some time, I'm here to support you without judgment.

Group therapy:

Healing can also happen in a community. I offer group therapy for those who wish to connect with others with similar experiences. These groups are small, confidential, and designed to provide mental health support in a safe and caring environment.

Online therapy:

I offer virtual therapy sessions., This option allows you to access support from the comfort of your own home, making therapy accessible wherever you are. I provide the same level of care and compassion through online platforms as I do in person.

Psychoeducation:

Greater awareness of your emotions and why you have them gives meaning to everything. We can use our feelings in much better ways. Parts of us may be frozen in time, and some emotions are not even available to us. By working together, I can help you understand how your mind is adapted and how behaviour patterns can be rewired to support you better in the present.

My Approach

I like to focus on what's happening for you right now because I believe being present and engaged with today can create the foundation for a healthier, more fulfilling future. That said, our work together will also involve gently exploring your past—taking the time to understand how your experiences have shaped you.

By bringing awareness to old patterns and untangling unhelpful thoughts and responses, we can make sense of them in a way that feels more true to who you are today. From there, it's about reshaping those thoughts and beliefs so they support your growth, helping you move forward with more clarity, confidence, and self-compassion.

And we'll do all of this at a pace that feels right for you—no pressure, no rush—just a space where you can figure things out in your own time.

Resources and grounding

I believe in supporting your healing both inside and outside of the therapy room. Here are some resources and grounding techniques that you may find helpful as you begin or continue your healing journey.

Locate a quiet space and take a deep breath. If you're feeling overwhelmed at the moment, this sensory branding technique can assist you in regaining your composure. Gradually make your way down from 5 to 1, identifying what you can perceive around you. When you're done, take another deep breath.

Pick up an item that is around you, any item will do. Set two minutes on an alarm and look at that object. Moving around in your hands and exploring every facet. Maybe the colours are interesting, you might like the shape of it, or you may find something that you haven't noticed before. After two minutes take a deep breath and notice how you are feeling now. This is a great technique as it can be done anywhere and anytime.
